Here’s where the overthinking starts for most people.

They’ve decided they’re doing this. They’re ready. They open Substack to sign up, they get to the bit where it asks for a publication name. And they freeze.

And I understand it, because choosing a name feels final. It feels like a commitment. Like you’re being asked to summarise your entire soul into two or three words before you’ve even figured out what you’re doing.
